M5 Stuart of the 899th Recon Co moves up from Maknassy to El Guettar in
March 1943. At the end of the campaign the M5 was replaced by the M8
Armored Car.

| The M8 light armored car was the only armored car used by the US Army in combat during World War II. Originally developed for the Tank Destroyer force.Approx. 420 M8 armored cars were used primarily by Bn Recon Co. A command and utility version of the M8, the M20 armored utility car, also saw extensive use during the war. |
